Here are a few ways to help make living in your for-sale home simpler.

Have you ever tried selling a home while living in it? It can be a little inconvenient, to say the least. However, letting buyers view your home at their convenience is important if you want to get top dollar. That’s why I’m sharing a list of things you can do to make living in your for-sale home a little easier:

1. Take care of repairs upfront. If the house needs to be painted, the fascia needs to be taken care of, leaky faucets need to be repaired, or landscaping needs to be spruced up, do it before people visit. This will save you the headache of trying to schedule your repairs around your buyers.

2. Start packing. You’ll need to start packing eventually, so you might as well do it early. Packing early has many benefits when buyers view your home. It makes your house look bigger and show better.

3. Depersonalize, but not too much. Buyers want to envision themselves living in your home, and one way to accomplish that is by depersonalizing. Family photos and other personal items should be some of the first things you pack away. That being said, don’t go too far with this. You still want buyers to know that they can make your property into a lovely home.
